The following table provides information about the status of JRCLS student chapters at law schools in the United States. It is organized alpahabetically by state and then alphabetically by school within each state. (The information in the table is based on a variety of sources which are noted for each entry. If you know of changes, additions, or corrections that should be made, please email John Christensen. It is recognized that this table is a WORKING DRAFT and more accurate information is earnestly solicited.)

Column 1 - State and Region

The Student Chapters Committee of the International Board of the JRCLS has divided the nation into six regions and a member of the Committee is assigned to oversee each region as follows:

E = Eastern US - Dane Holbrook
C = Central US - John Christensen
M = Midwestern US - Bruce Duffield
P = Pacific US - Richard Peterson
S = Southeast US - Nancy Van Slooten
R = Rocky Mountain US - Bill Atkin

Column 2 - Law School, City, JRCLS Chapter

If there is a JRCLS web site at the law school, the name of the law school is underlined. The name of the closest regular JRCLS chapter is given if in practical proximity.

Column 3 - Status and Number of Students

The status of JRCLS student groups at U.S. law schools is indicated by the following status codes:
none = no contact or information
1 = inquiry received from one or more students
2 = informal group of LDS law students
3 = LDS law student group officially recognized by the law school or university but not currently affiliated with JRCLS
4 = JRCLS student chapter pending (group actively pursuing student chapter status)
5 = JRCLS student chapter previously recognized by JRCLS International Board
6 = JRCLS student chapter officially recognized by JRCLS International Board under new procedures adopted Sep 2004
7 = LDS law student group or JRCLS student chapter officially recognized by the law school or university
8 = JRCLS student chapter officially recognized by JRCLS International Board AND officially recognized as a student organizaton by the law school or university

"No. Stu" refers to the number of students in the student chapter or group as of 15 Sep.

Column 4 - President (or contact person), President-Elect and Atty Adviser

The name of the most recent student chapter president (or contact person) is provided. If the name is underlined, an email address has been provided and you can send an email to that individual by clicking on the name. The Attorney Adviser is the member of the regular local JRCLS chapter board assigned to work with the student chapter. Sometimes the attorney adviser will be a member of the law school faculty. If there is no regular local JRCLS chapter, a member of the Student Chapters Committee of the JRCLS International Board will provide guidance to the student chapter or group.

Column 5 - Notes and Info Source and Date of Info

Notes are included to clarify relationship with a potential student chapter and/or to indicate additional contacts at the school (e.g., LDS faculty). Source of information for entry and Date assist in evaluating the accuracy and currency of a particular entry.
